Anxiety

Personal interview with Jessica Jolly on April 13 2010 at 4:30pm

The feeling of unpleasantness is typically associated with uneasiness, fear, or worry. Jessica Jolly always expects disaster, and can not stop worrying about money, family, and work. She has trouble falling and staying asleep. Jessica says that she has gone through physical examination and has done different test even though there are no laoratory test to specifically diagnose anxiety. Since there is no physical illness she was referred to a psychologist to help with her anxiety and she also takes medication everyday. Her anxiety is not under control so she with have to go to therapy and contiue to take her medication .

This interview goes along with chapter 15 in so many ways. Jessica has to go to therapy with is treatment methods aimed at making people feel better and function more effectively. Her therapiest is tring to make her worry less. She also has to take antianxiety drugs which are drugs to treat and calm anxiety reactions. Some time when peoples anxiety is so bad they have to use elecroconvulsive therapy also know as ECT. ECT is where electrodes are placed on either one or both sides of the persons head and an elecric current is passed throught the electrodes. This interview also goes along with chapter 14. Her anxiety disorder is general emotion it is not a fear to a specific object. People with a social phobia are at fear with others or being in social situations that might lead to a negative evaluation. Jessica Jolly told me that she has a fear of being wrong when infront of people so that goes along with social phobia.
